Richard Senanu returns as he features in Kotoko friendly win over Ebony FC

1 min read

Richard Senanu got on the board in his first action as a Porcupine after two years as Asante Kotoko beat division two side Kumasi Ebony on Saturday morning in a mid-season friendly.

The Porcupines recorded an emphatic 5-2 victory over their counterparts at the Adako Jachie Training Grounds. Godfred Asiamah, Naby Keita 2x, Patrick Asmah and Sarfo Taylor got the needed goals for Kotoko.

The intelligent midfielder who has been out of Kotoko for 2 years due to a career-threatening injury he sustained in February 2019 in a CAF Confederation Cup match against Zesco United came into the game in the second half to replace Latif Anabila and was at his usual best.

He made the Kotoko team tick and rarely gave the ball away. He sprayed lengthy passes, kept the game simple and executed the killer balls that really matter.

Senanu will be competing with the likes of Emmanuel Keyekeh, Emmanuel Sarkodie and Kwame Adom Frimpong when the second round resumes next month.

He has been offered a two-year contract extension at the club – though he is yet to sign but he will do so in the coming days.
