REPEAT or REVENGE: OKESS beat Sakafia to set up epic final clash against SIMMS

After several days of exciting scenes and scintillating performances, the 2024/25 Ashanti Regional Inter-school and College Boys’ Soccer Competition will be climaxed with the final fixture between Simms SHS and Osei Kyeretwie Senior High School.

Simms SHS reached the final after edging out Opoku Ware School with a slender 1-0 victory on Tuesday afternoon.

Record champions OKESS also advanced to the final to set up a repeat of the 2023 finals against Simms SHS after beating Sakafia SHS 5-4 on penalties following a goalless stalemate.

In the 2023 edition, after a 1-1 stalemate, the Fawoade-based Simms defeated the eight-time winners OKESS 5-3 on penalties to clinch the trophy for the first time in the history of the school.

Jonathan Edwards netted for Simms with Farouk Omar Awidana equalising for OKESS.

Is it going to be a repeat or revenge?

The final is slated for Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi. The game is scheduled to kick off at 15:00 GMT (3p.m.).

The final duel promises to be cagey, as both sides have been amazing among the 32 schools that started the competition on Wednesday, November 27, 2024.

Opoku Ware School will battle Sakafia SHS for third place at 12:00 PM.
