President Akufo-Addo appoints Yussif Mustapha as Youth & Sports Minister-designate

The President of Ghana, Nana Addo Danwa Akufo-Addo has announced the Chief Executive Officer National Service Secretariat(NSS) Yussif Mustapha as Minister designated for Youth and Sports in his second term of office.

Mustapha, who is the Member of Parliament for Yagba/Kubore is replacing Hon. Isaac Asiamah who has served at the position from 2016 to 2020.

He defeated National Democratic Congress candidate Alhaji Ibrahim Rauf Tanko in the 2020 Parliamentary elections to win the Yagba/Kubore Constituency seat.

Mustapha hails from Tantaala in the Northern Region of Ghana. He studied at Bagabaga Teacher Training College and Anglia Ruskin University where he obtained his bachelor of arts degree in International Business and Management in 2010. 

He continued at the University of Gloucestershire where he graduated in 2011 with his master’s degree in Finance and Investment.

Mustapha worked as an Investment Analyst at Ray and Associates, UK in 2010. That same year, he joined Action Aid UK where he worked as a Freelance Consultant

He was the Executive Director of the National Service Scheme from 2017.
