The Bees has secured a Premier League qualification after beating the Swans 2-0 in the Championship playoff final.
Brentford FC will play in the 2021-22 EPL season after thrashing André Ayew’s Swansea City 2-0 in the playoff final at the Wembley stadium this afternoon.
Toney breaks the deadlock from the spot on the 10th minute after goalkeeper Woodman was caught up in a challenge in the 18 yard box before Marcondes increased the tally for Brentford on the 20th minute to power Brentford forward to 2-0
Swansea pushed harder for goal, but Brentford maintained composure and made sure no goal kissed the net until the break.
In the second half, the Wales based side mounted more pressure, but the West London based club didn’t allow any ball to kiss their net.
Sadly for Swansea, Fulton happened to be red-carded after the midfielder went on a rough tackle on his foe. This worsened Swansea’s chance as they were down by one man whilst trying to equalise 2 goals against a dangerous Brentford sides.
Subsequently, the game came to an end with Swansea remaining in the Championship whilst Brentford gaining promotion to the EPL next season on the evidence of the 2-0 results.
This is the second time Ayew’s Swansea couldn’t secure promotion in a row. Last season, Swansea lost to Fulham in the playoff and then losing this season to Brentford in the final.
Ayew, a key figure for Swansea, who contributed 17 goals and 4 assists will miss the EPL after his side couldn’t secure promotion.
