Defender Patrick Yeboah has revealed the reason behind the termination of his contract with Asante Kotoko.
The talented left-back on Monday disclosed that he has mutually terminated his stay at the Ghanaian giants due to lack of playing time.
Yeboah joined the Porcupines Warriors from Ghana Premier League side Karela United in 2019 ahead of their Caf Champions League campaign.
Before the commencement of the truncated league, Imoro Ibrahim who is a left-back joined the side, and Patrick Asmah – who also plays in the same position has joined the Reds in the ongoing transfer window.
The arrival of Imoro Ibrahim made Patrick Yeboah lost his position, making only five appearances in the cancelled 2019-20 Ghana Premier League. The signing of Asmah is also expected to intensify competition for the left-back slot.
However, Patrick Yeboah insists he is not leaving because of the arrival of the players but to accept another challenge elsewhere.
“Getting enough time to play as a player is very important and it was a reason I decided to terminate my contract with Kotoko, ” he told Oyerepa FM.
Patrick Yeboah had two more years left on his contract.
