OFFICIAL: Hearts of Oak appoint club legend Dong Bortey as Youth Development Coach

Hearts Of Oak have announced the appointment of club legend Bernard Dong-Bortey as a member of the technical team.

The former player joins the side as their Under-14 team development coach effective today, November 2, 2022.

The appointment of Bortey forms part of the club’s technical team restructuring.

According to the club statement, Bortey will also assist the club’s Under-18 coach Samuel Nii Noi while “building the foundation modules to revamp the Under-14 team and will also work closely with head coach Slavko Matic

Dong-Bortey made over 100 appearances for the Accra club and was instrumental in the club winning four league titles and the CAF Confederation Cup. He was a joint top scorer of the league in 2002.

Bortey was earlier today sighted at the club training ground heavily involved in the activities of the technical team.

The Phobians recently appointed Serbian gaffer Slavko Matic as the head of the senior team.
