1 min readGhana’s Sports Minister, Mustapha Yusif, has confirmed the technical team and backroom staff who will be working with Black Stars head coach Otto Addo at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
Chris Houghton, who has a lot of experience in coaching, has been confirmed as the technical advisor ahead of the Mundial.
George Boateng, formerly of Aston Villa, will be one of the two assistant coaches for Addo. The other assistant trainer is former Ghana Premier League winner Mas-Ud Didi Dramani.
Former Black Stars goalie Richard Kingston maintained his role as the goalkeeper trainer, and Henry Asante Twum will be the media manager for the contingent.
Also, the Ghana Football Association and the Ministry of Youth and Sports have settled on four coaches to travel with the Black Stars to the World Cup on a working attachment.
The quartet include Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum, a Premier League winner formerly of Asante Kotoko who works as an assistant coach of the Black Galaxies; Samuel Boadu, a Premier League and FA Cup winner with Hearts of Oak; Black Meteors coach Ibrahim Tanko; and Ignatius Osei Fosu, an assistant coach of the Black Starlets.
The trip will give them an opportunity to pick up useful lessons from the biggest global showpiece and learn from the Black Stars technical team.
