Nii Odoom – “Hearts of Oak will win the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League”

2 min read

Hearts of Oak head coach, Edward Nii Odoom, has said the Phobians will win the upcoming 2020/21 Ghana Premier League title, which will be their first in ten years if achieved.

The 20-time Ghana Premier League winners, which is the second-best in the country, are yet to win a GPL title since they last won it in the 2008/09 season.

Asante Kotoko are the club with the most Ghana Premier League titles, 23.

Nii Odoom, who was promoted from Hearts’ B team to replace sacked Kim Grant after matchday one of the truncated 2019/20 Ghana Premier League season, stated everything has been positive ahead of the start of the new season.

He called on the fans of the club to continue where they left off last season to help break the ten-year GPL trophy drought, which he stated emphatically without mincing words.

“Hearts of Oak fans did very well for us in the season which was truncated. They followed us to every match so we want the same thing this season”, he told GTV Sports plus.

“So far as we have started, this year will be a very good year for us. If I look at my boys, they are very determined.

“Since we started the beach and gym work, their attitude is very perfect. Hearts of Oak will win the 2020/20 Ghana Premier League. We are going to break the jinx that has eluded us for the past ten years.”

The Ghana Football Association has set October 13, 2020, for the start of the new season and Phobia fans will hope Nii Odoom’s words become a reality at the end of the season.
