Medeama beat Proud United in an entertaining seven-goal thriller in pre-season friendly

Medeama SC maintained their fine form in the ongoing pre-season activities as they secured a hard-fought 4-3 victory against second-tier side Proud United.

The pre-season exercise, which formed part of the Mauve and Yellows’ pre-season preparations was held at the Akoon Park in Tarkwa on Sunday.

New Recruit and former Ghana U-20 striker Abdul Basit open the scoring with
Agyenim Boateng, Ebenezer Ackahbi and experienced Daniel Egyin scoring for Medeama on the afternoon.

The two-time FA Cup champions have been trimming the rough edges in pre-season ahead of the start of the 2020-21 campaign this month.

Coach Samuel Boadu’s charges whitewashed Vision Soccer Academy 19-1 in their first pre-season a week ago.

They hammered lower division side Bompieso United Football Club 10-0 in their second friendly on Friday.

Medeama SC has been targeting the Ghana Premier League trophy over the last two season’s but failed to win due to inconsistencies in the Ghanaian Football.

The new season is expected to start on November 3 and Medeama will take on Great Olympics in their season’s opener on Sunda,y November 15, 2020.
