Maxwell Konadu to replace Bashir Hayford at Legon Cities
2 min readStruggling Ghana Premier League side, Legon Cities are set to name Coach Maxwell Konadu as their new head coach, according to Joy Sports report.
The current coach of the side, Bashir Hayford has come under pressure following the poor performance of the side in the ongoing campaign.
The Royal current defeat came on Saturday evening when they lost to Asante Kotoko in a match-day 22 fixture at the Accra Sports Stadium.
According to reports, the management are unhappy with the performance of the former AshantiGold head coach trainer and have decided to part ways with him
Joy Sports report that Legon Cities have reached a deal with Maxwell Konadu after talks were held on Saturday night and the 48-year-old has agreed to take over the club with an unveiling expected to be done within the week.
Konadu’s appointment will be the third after Goran Barjaktarevic was sacked at an early stage of the season.
Maxwell Konadu, however, has been jobless since parting ways with Asante Kotoko in December last after losing Accra Great Olympics.
He is a former Wa All Stars coach and has served as the Black Stars assistant coach. Konadu also led the Black Stars B to place second in the 2019 WAFU tournament in Senegal
Legon Cities have now dropped into the relegation zone and now sit at the 16th position with 23 points after 22 games.
Legon Cities will be hosted by Ebusua Dwarfs in the matchday 23 games at the Cape Coast Stadium this weekend.
