Match Report: WAFA pip Bechem United at Sogakope

WAFA SC on handed Bechem United 1-0 defeat on Sunday at the Sogakope Park in their match-day 19 Ghana Premier League fixture.

Lawrence Agyekum snatched the only goal on the afternoon.

The Academy Boys were poised to pick the maximum points following a recent dip in form as they hoop to finish well in the second round of the 2020/2021 Ghana Premier League season.

WAFA were in firm control of the game but could not utilize the plethora of chances that came their way.

In a fierce contest that ensued in the first half, WAFA SC had the advantage at the break courtesy of a strike from Lawrence Agyekum in the 44th minute.

After the break, WAFA worked for two corner kicks in a spate of four minutes.

Fm Augustine Boakye whose strike from distance was pushed out for a corner kick by the  Bechem goalkeeper.

Then Justus Torsutsey struck from 18 yards out but it was palmed away by the goalkeeper for another corner kick.

Although Bechem United excelled and made strides in the first half, they failed to score and hence surrender the three maximum points to the home team at the end of the 90 minutes.
