Match Report: WAFA down struggling Legon Cities

WAFA SC secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory over visiting Legon Cities on match-day 25 of the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
The Academy Lads exhibited another great performance at their favourite Red Bull Arena in Sogskope to secure their second consecutive victory.
Justus Torsutsey snatched the only goal in the afternoon for the home side.

The visitors nearly opened the scoring under one minute but Jonah Attuquaye’s strike hit the side net of the post.
Boosted by their 3-2 away win against Medeama SC at Tarkwa in mid-week WAFA accepted the challenge, dominating the first half of the game.

They had two nicely taken corner kick but the final touches were very poor.
In the 31st minute, Justus Torsutsey opened the scoring for the Academy boys.
A minute to end the half, Legon Cities won a free-kick at the edge of the 18-yard box of the home side but it was kicked against the wall.

The first half ended 1-0 for WAFA.
Two minutes after recess, the Royals had a glorious opportunity to level the scores but striker Richmond Antwi’s header went wide.
A few minutes later, Justice Anane sent in a thunderous left-foot strike which hit the top of the post.
WAFA kept on tightly to ensure that they pick their second consecutive win.

Despite the improved performance from the Royals, they could not utilise their chances as WAFA picked up the three maximum points at home.
