Hearts of Oak emerged victorious with a 3-1 scoreline against Berekum Chelsea in a thrilling encounter in the Ghana Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
The Phobians, who were looking to bounce back from a disappointing 1-0 loss to Real Tamale United in their previous game, hosted their Week 17 opponent at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Under the guidance of Coach Slavko Matic, Hearts of Oak put up a strong performance, determined to secure a win. Despite both teams creating numerous opportunities in the first half, the score remained level at 0-0 as they went into halftime.
After the break, Hearts of Oak dominated possession and put relentless pressure on Berekum Chelsea’s defense. This pressure eventually paid off as the visitors accidentally scored an own goal through Zakaria Fuseini. With the game entering its final stages, goals from Benjamin Yorke and Victor Aidoo sealed the victory for Hearts of Oak, while Kusi Pandrous scored a late consolation goal for Berekum Chelsea.
