Hearts Of Oak engaged lower-tier side Mighty Jets as part of preparations for their upcoming continental competition.
The Ghanaian giants pipped the Division One side by 1-0 at the Madina Astroturf Park on Tuesday afternoon.
Richmond Ayi started in the post with a back four of Denis Korsah, Konadu Yiadom, Robert Addo, and Fatawu Mohammed.
In defence were Caleb Amankwah, Daniel Kordie, and Enoch Asubonteng, with Siedu Suraj, Afriyie Barnieh, and Jnr Kaaba leading the attack.
After dominating the early parts of the first half, Daniel Afriyie Barnieh scored in the 19th minute to give the Phobians a well-deserved lead.
Barnieh headed the ball from an Asubonteng cross to give Hearts the lead.
A few minutes later, Suraj narrowly missed an opportunity to give Hearts the second goal.
On the stroke of the break, Barnieh had an opportunity to grab his second goal of the afternoon, but again it was tipped off for a corner by the Mighty Jets goalkeeper.
Hearts presented an entirely new team for the second half, with the exception of Richmond Ayi. Mohammed Alhassan, Zakari Yakubu, Rashid Okine, and Samuel Inkoom were introduced.
Others were Salifu Ibrahim, Obeng Jnr, Gladson Awako, Eric Esso, and Geordon Otanga.
Otanga announced his presence early in the game as his shot on target hit the upright, but a quick rebound was saved by the Mighty Jets goalkeeper.
Dr. Congo International Hearts’ tally when he looped the ball over the goalkeeper and was cleared off the line by a Mighty Jets defender
Hearts piled pressure on the Jets but were denied several times by the goalkeeper.
The Phobians will take on Mali outfit Real Bamako in the Caf Confederation Cup preliminary round this coming weekend.
