Match Report: Elmina Sharks fight back to get draw with Karela United

Elmina Sharks fought hard to secure a second half equaliser to draw with Karela United on match-day 24 of the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League at the Nduom Park on Wednesday afternoon.

Karela United stunned the home side as they took an early lead through Reginald Antwi.

But a second fightback saw the Elmina based club pulled parity through forward, Benjamin Boateng.

Elmina Sharks came into the game as wounded lions after a disappointing loss at bottom side Inter Allies.

Coach Nii Odartey Lamptey’s charges commenced the duel strongly but failed to find the back of the net.

The visitors opened the scoring after Reginald Antwi rose high to meet a cross in the 30th minute.

Sharks seized control immediately, dominating possession, however could not score as they lacked precision upfront.

Karela United kept their composure hoping to secure a rare away win after recess.

A determined Sharks kept on pressing and with 22 minutes left, Benjamin Boateng leveled for the home team with a sublime finish.

Both sidelevelledned cautious, preventing a mistake as the clock ticked down.
