Match Report: Black Princesses trounce Ethiopia in FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup qualifiers

The Black Princesses of Ghana managed to record a 3-0 resounding away win over Ethiopia in the first leg tie of the final round of the FIFA U-20 World Cup qualifying campaign.
Ghana commenced the game on a good note as they exercised their attacking muscles to register three goals in the first department of the game.
Young striker Salamatu Abdulai grabbed a quick brace after registering her name on the score sheet for the Black Princesses on the 29th and 38th minute of the game.
Ghana ended the first half with a 3-0 comfortable lead after Ceceilia Nyama brilliantly scored a spectacular goal on the stroke of halftime.
The Ethiopians tried to at least reduce the deficit in the second half but none of their efforts earned them a consolation goal as the fixture ended in a 3-0 win for Coach Baba Nuhu’s side.
The Black Princesses started their qualifying campaign by advancing after Mauritania withdrew in the first round which automatically took them to the second round where they beat Zambia by 1-0 on aggregate
They progressed to beat Uganda by two goals to one in Kampala and five goals to nothing in Cape Coast.
With Costa Rica in sight, the black Princesses are hoping to finish off the qualifying campaign without a defeat.
The return leg fixture against the Ethiopia U20 side will be staged at the Accra Sports Stadium next weekend.
Ghana will now need either a win or draw against their counterparts in the second leg to seal their qualification to the tournament.
The FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup is slated for Costa Rica in August 2022.
