Red Bull Salzburg scout Benoit Thans has indicated that Ghanaian midfielder, Majeed Ashimeru is not ready to play many games after the Red Bull Salzburg-owned player recovered from coronavirus.
Thanks however, believes on-loan Ashimeru will explode at Belgian giants Anderlecht.
The Ghana international had a fantastic debut last week, scoring after coming on as a substitute in the Belgian Cup.
But the former WAFA graduate was not named in Vincent Kompany’s squad for their league encounter against Genk.
“Physically, Ashimeru is not ready to play full matches yet. Once that is, the case, he can play along perfectly with Sambi and Trebel. They are different types and in his way Ashimeru will be of value,” Thans told HLN.
“Don’t expect him to make a difference (score a goal) in every match because of his way of playing football, he helps the strikers and other midfielders to do that.
“If Kompany uses him well, he will get even better.
He revealed that Majeed Ashimeru’s € 2.5m purchase option clause for Anderlecht is a bargain.
“There is margin and his mentality is top. He can explode in Belgium … and then the 2.5 million would be a bargain.”
