Legendary Asante Kotoko goalkeeper Joe Carr makes case for club’s participation in Aftica

Former goalkeeper of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Joseph Carr, popularly known as “the cat” says that Kotoko is for Africa and needs to compete as expected.

Some Ghana Premier League coaches, administrators and former players of the Porcupine Warriors advised the hierarchy to reject the opportunity to represent Ghana in the 2020-21 Caf Champions due to the long absence of no football.

However, others believed It is a prudent decision to compete in Africa anytime they are presented with an opportunity.

According to Joe Carr, Kotoko is an elite club and needs to compete well on the continent as they used to do in past years.

“Kotoko is for Africa and needs to compete as expected, ” he told FOX FM.

When quizzed on the current players at the club, Joe Carr further explained that player recruitment and organisation depends on head coach Maxwell Konadu.

He also urged the supporters of the club to stand behind the club in the upcoming CAF Champions League campaign.

“The supporters of Kumasi Asante Kotoko should keep supporting the club in order for Krobea to bring glory to Asanteman and the entire nation.”
