Black Stars midfield gem Kwasi Sibo is happy to have started enjoying regular play for Real Oviedo in the 2025/26 Spanish La Liga.

Kwasi Sibo, since the appointment of Uruguayan coach, Guillermo Almada, has played 90 minutes in his first two games under the new tactician.

This is a feat he has achieved after 4 months following the September international break when he started against Elche and has since warmed the bench in La Liga games under his former manager Luis Carrion.

The hard working midfielder played the entire game when Real Oviedo drew goalless at home against Real Betis in match day 17 of the Spanish La Liga.

He was also in full action in match day 18 when Oviedo drew 1-1 against Alavez away.

Real Oviedo are currently languishing at the bottom of the Spanish La Liga table with a disappointing 12 points from 18 games. They have won only two, drawn 6 and lost an amazing 10 games.

Despite this poor run in the season, Kwasi Sibo is positive about the future of his club.

His focus for now is to maintain a consistent performance and carve a niche for himself at Oviedo and the Black Stars as they gear up for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Kwasi Sibo was pivotal in the Black Stars last FIFA qualifying matches. He remains coach Otto Addo’s first choice midfielder. He obviously needs to work extra hard to cement his position in the team looking at the quality midfielders around.
