Kotoko’s Richmond Lamptey and one new signing fly out to Sudan to join the team

 
Asante Kotoko’s duo of Richmond Lamptey and John Tedeku left Ghana on Wednesday en route to Sudan, where they will join the rest of the team for their pre-season tour.

The two players are expected to join the rest of their teammates on Thursday.

The Porcupine Warriors departed Accra on Sunday for the north African country for the second phase of their pre-season.

Lamptey, who joined the team las season, was unable to trek with the contingent on Sunday due to documentation problems.

Tedeku recently joined the reigning champions and was sorting out other important issues before he could join his new teammates.

The duo are expected to arrive in Khartoum in the early hours of Thursday.

Kotoko on Tuesday evening played their first friendly encounter against Al Hilal, losing 2-0. They are expected to play the same side on Friday as they continue to prepare for the 2022/23 season.

They will faceoff with Simba SC before returning to Ghana on September 1 to wrap up preparations for their first CAF Champions League preliminary round game against Kadiogo.
