Kotoko striker Franck Mbella lends support to banned Richmond Lamptey

Asante Kotoko striker Franck Etouga Mbella has offered his support to teammate Richmond Lamptey after Ghana FA’s ban for his involvement in match manipulation.

Richmond Lamptey who joined Asante Kotoko at the start the ongoing season from Inter Allies was slapped with a 30 months ban by the Disciplinary Committee of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) for his involvement in a match manipulation in the final game of last season involving his former club Inter Allies, and Ashantigold SC.

The game between the two sides at the Len Clay Sports Stadium ended 7-0, with Hashmin Musah, a former Allies player scoring two own goals on purpose, later admitting it was to sabotage a bet on the game.

Following investigations, Richmond Lamptey was found guilty of participating in the scandal, a breach to Article 34(6)(d) of the GFA
Premier league regulations,2019 and Article 26(1) & (2) of the GFA Code of Ethics,2019.

“That Richmond Lamptey of Inter Allies FC is hereby banned for a period of 30 months in accordance with Article 34.5(d)(i) of the Ghana Premier League Regulations,” the verdict from the Ghana FA read,

Reacting to the ban on Facebook, Etouga who’s a topscorer in the Ghana Premier League this season has offered his support to his teammate.
