Kotoko sign Cameroonian striker George Mfegue
1 min readAsante Kotoko have completed the signing of Cameroonian top flight side, Avion Academy of Douala captain George Rodrique Mfegue Omgba, according to Cameroonian portal, Kick442.com.
The Porcupines turned their attention on the 22-year-old who was the second top-scorer in the Cameroonian league with ten goals after missing out on Uganda forward, Steven Mukwala.
Mukwala was billed to join Kotoko this summer but the deal was called off due to disagreement between his club URA and Kotoko over his transfer fee.
However, Asante Kotoko have now signed the potential Indomitable Lions of Cameroon forward on a one-year deal with an option to renew.
Mfegue masterminded Avion’s promotion to the Cameroonian top-flight in 2018 as one of the club’s main attacking options and has since been the club’s top scorer in the last three campaigns.
Noted for his speed, power and exquisite finishing ability, Mfegue netted 26 goals for Avion in all competitions.
He is expected to join the team in Dubai to finalize the formalities and officially sign the contract which has already been registered as the transfer window shut in Ghana already.
