Kotoko-Hearts e-Ticket sales generate GHC600k

Almost GHC600,000 was generated from the sale of e-Tickets for the Ghana Premier League Super Clash between Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak, played in Kumasi on Sunday.
This was disclosed by the CEO of e-GoTickets, George Festus Mensah on Kumasi based Oyerepa Fm on Monday.
The 40,000-seater capacity Baba Yara Stadium recorded an estimated total attendance of 15,965 fans for the match-day 24 fixture.
In a bid to tackle concerns regarding corruption and long queues for the procurement of tickets, the Government, through the National Sports Authority introduced the online ticketing platform.
Electronic ticketing was first used in Ghana during the 2022 World Cup play-off between the Black Stars and Super Eagles of Nigeria in Kumasi, which generated GHC1.42m, as confirmed by Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia during his address on the state of the Ghana economy on April 7.
