Justice Blay and Dickson Afoakwa’s return to Asante Kotoko has given the team a boost ahead of their upcoming clash against Samartex in a Premier League match-day 22 fixture. The Porcupines will travel to the Western Region to face the Timer giants.
Blay and Afoakwa have been absent from the club’s recent games but were seen training at Adako Jachie on Monday morning. Blay has been struggling with a knee problem since Kotoko’s defeat to Karela United and has missed the club’s last five Premier League games.
Blay has played 12 games for Kotoko in the GPL this season, and Afoakwa has made six appearances. However, Mubarik Yussif and Isaac Oppong remain on the sidelines and are expected to return to the side in the coming weeks.
Kotoko is currently in fifth place in the standings with 31 points, eight points behind the first-placed Aduana Stars, with a game in hand against King Faisal that could not be played last weekend.
