Kalo Ouattara reach agreement to sign Berekum Chelsea striker Kalo Ouattara

An agreement has been reached between Asante Kotoko and Berekum Chelsea regarding the acquisition of striker Kalo Ouattara.

According to local transfer authority Mohammed Shaban, the two clubs have successfully come to terms for the transfer of the talented goal scorer, who gained prominence while playing for Berekum Chelsea in the previous season.

Kalo Ouattara is anticipated to accompany his teammate Henry Ansu to Kumasi for their medical assessments with Asante Kotoko next week.

Both Kalo Ouattara and Henry Ansu are set to join Asante Kotoko following productive negotiations with Berekum Chelsea, aimed at fortifying the squad for the upcoming 2023/24 league season.

Their decision to join Asante Kotoko is based on the recommendation of coach Prosper Narteh Ogum. Pending a successful medical evaluation, Kalo Ouattara and Henry Ansu will be the newest incorporations into the Asante Kotoko squad, following the recent addition of former WAFA SC captain Michael Dwamena.

Dwamena has signed a two-year contract with Asante Kotoko and will take the place of captain Richard Boadu, who departed for Al Ahly in Libya.

Despite the presence of Steven Mukwala Dese, Isaac Oppong, Solomon Sarfo Taylor, and Samuel Boateng as attackers, Kalo Quattara will assume the role of the new striker for Kotoko.

In other news, Asante Kotoko has unveiled the start date for their preseason training in preparation for the 2023/24 league season.

The previous champions of the Ghana Premier League are scheduled to commence their preseason activities on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, at Beposo Park in the Ashanti Region.

Asante Kotoko’s opening match of the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season will be against league returnees Hearts of Lions at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.
