Joseph Aidoo injured, ruled out of Madagascar qualifier

Ghana defender Joseph Aidoo has been ruled out of the Black Stars 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Madagascar after picking up an injury.

The Celta Vigo backliner twisted his right ankle during a Black Stars training session and will miss the continental qualifier.

Aidoo, who missed Monday’s training session, is being observed by the medical team as he undergoes rehabilitation processes to recover for the next qualifier against Central African Republic on June 5.

The Black Stars will open their AFCON 2023 qualifiers with a Group E encounter against Madagascar on June 1 at the Cape Coast Stadium.
