Ghana and reading defender Baba Rahman will be out of action for a month after picking up a hamstring injury.

The defender sustained the injury during training on Thursday after returning from international duty for Ghana.

The defender was forced to miss out in Reading’s 3-1 win over Huddersfield on Saturday.

Head coach of Reading, Paul Ince after the game confirmed the defender will be out of action for a couple weeks.

“It’s been a bad couple of days for us as we lost Baba Rahman on Thursday so he’s out for a month,” explained Ince after the win over Huddersfield. “He seemed ok when he came back from international duty but then he said his hamstring was tight and the next thing you know it’s a hamstring injury and he’s out for three or four weeks so it’s another blow.

Rahman is expected to return to action in time ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

He is expected to play a key role for Ghana at the Mundial.
