Veteran trainer Joseph Emmanuel Sarpong has stated emphatically that he will turn down an opportunity to take up the vacant Hearts Of Oak coaching job because he wants to live long.

The Phobians are without a substantive coach following the resignation of Serbian gaffer Kosta Papic a few days ago.

Many coaches including former trainer of the side Frank Nuttal, Ibrahim Tanko, Abdul Razak have been linked to the position.

When asked if he will be interested in returning to his former club, coach Sarpong indicated that he will reject any call for him to return to the club again.

“Now, no top coach wants the Hearts of Oak job anymore. I told Opare on Sunday that I could coach the team for free if they fuel my car,” he said on Newsfile on GTV Sports Plus.

“But, I was kidding you know because I have some years ahead of me and I don’t want to die before the time,” he added.

Samuel Nii Noi – under-15 coach of the Ghanaian giants led the team to a 3-2 win over Ebusua Dwarfs on Sunday, in a matchday 15 battle of Ghana Premier League.
