“I didn’t miss Bright Adjei” – Paa Kwesi Fabin after barren draw with Kotoko

2 min read

Aduana Stars head coach Paa Kwesi Fabin says the club did not miss the services of their prolific attacker Bright Adjei in their scoreless encounter against Asante Kotoko in the Ghana Premier League.

The Ogya boys maintained their position at the top of the League table after matchday 10 following their draw against Kotoko at the Dormaa Park on Sunday afternoon.

Fabin’s charges headed into the gameweek at the top of the table without their star and leading topscorer, Adjei, who is on five goals.

Bright Adjei

Adjei was with the Black Galaxies team preparing for the 2022 CHAN tournament but was axed from the team and was expected to play for Aduana yesterday.

However, he was not included in the team’s matchday squad. According to our sources, Adjei’s contract with Aduana Stars will expire on the 12th of this month.

Despite dominating the match, especially in the second half, Aduana failed to score a single goal as they fluffed the numerous chances they created.

Reacting after the barren draw, the former Black Starlets coach insisted that all his players are up to the task and that he did not miss the services of any player.

“I’m happy with the performance of my team but not the scoreline,” he said in a post-match interview.

“No, I don’t want you to bring in Bright Adjei because it’s a team play.” If you say that, it means the others we used are not equal to the task. Everybody is equal to the task; I didn’t miss anybody.

“One of our players got injured early in the game, and that affected us.”

Aduana still leads the league log with 20 points after 10 games, and they will trek to Bibiani as guests to Gold Stars on Sunday.
