“I didn’t get even a bicycle from Hearts; my salary was just hand-to-mouth” – Fatawu Mohammed

Former Hearts of Oak SC captain Fatawu Mohammed claims that the club’s salary he earned every month was only a hand-to-mouth salary.

The 30-year-old claims that his monthly salary from the club is a mere peanut, making it impossible for him to even purchase a bicycle.

He explained that playing for Ghana’s Black Stars during the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualification allowed him to purchase his one and only vehicle.

Several reports have indicated that the hierarchy of the Phobians has decided against extending his contract.

“I didn’t get even a bicycle from Hearts of Oak.” “I bought my car with a Black Stars qualification bonus.”

“The only thing I earned from Hearts of Oak SC was the call-up I had to the Black Stars team.”

“I couldn’t buy anything with my salary at Hearts of Oak.” “It was a hand-to-mouth salary,” he told Sports Obama TV.

Fatawu, who joined Hearts from RTU in 2012, led the Phobians to their first Ghana Premier League championship in 12 years as well as back-to-back MTN FA Cup victories.
