“I am proud to be part of Black Stars” – Brighton defender Tariq Lamptey

Brighton defender Tariq Lamptey said has expressed his excitement to be part of the Ghana national team, Black Stars after switching from England.

Lamptey, a former England youth international, committed to Ghana earlier this year after several attempts and has already trained twice with his new teammates.

The 21-year-old is in France preparing for Ghana’s international friendly against five-time world champions Brazil on Friday.

“Everyone has been fantastic. Everyone has been very welcoming. I am talking to everyone, getting to know everyone. It feels like a family so it feels so good, ” he told ghanafa.org
 
” I am very proud to be here and I am really determined to train hard, give the best as I can and I looking forward to the game on Friday.”

Tariq Lamptey is one of the options for the right-back position but can also function in the right-wing role in a three-back system.
