Gyamfi reacts to Kotoko’s defeat to Kadiogo, reveals he will not reject a return to the club

Former Asante Kotoko skipper, Emmanuel Gyamfi has commented on the club’s Champions League preliminary round defeat to Burkina Faso outfit RC Kadiogo, noting that it was a painful defeat.

The Aduana Stars winger was at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday afternoon to cheer his former side to victory, but they suffered a 3-1 defeat in penalty shootouts after a 1-1 aggregate score.

Speaking to Kessben FM after the encounter, Gyamfi indicated that he still supports the Porcupine Warriors and will fancy a return to the club whenever he is approached.

“It was a painful defeat. I was at the stadium because Kotoko is my former team and they represented Ghana in Africa. They couldn’t work with me, but I support the team. You’ll never know if I will make a return. “

Gyamfi left Kotoko in October 2021 after terminating his contract with the club.

He joined the Ghanaian giants in 2016 and was instrumental in the five years he spent both in domestic and continental competitions.

The 27-year-old scored 10 goals and provided 5 assists in 79 matches during his five-year stay at Kotoko.
