GTV Sports+ secures TV rights to telecast Ghana Premier League
1 min read
GTV Sports+ has been named the new broadcaster for the Ghana Premier League for the next five seasons, according to Oyerepa FM.
This decision follows the Ghana Football Association’s (GFA) decision not to renew StarTimes’ contract as the official broadcaster of the league. StarTimes, a Chinese pay-TV network, had held the broadcasting rights for the Premier League and the FA Cup since 2020, but the contract was terminated after the 2023/24 season.
Reports indicate that GTV Sports+ has reached an agreement with the GFA to broadcast the league for the next five years. The deal, worth $2 million, makes GTV Sports+ the exclusive TV rights holder for both the Ghana Premier League and the FA Cup.
Fans can look forward to extensive coverage, including live matches, highlights, and in-depth analysis, provided by GTV Sports+. The 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season is scheduled to begin on September 6.
