The Porcupine Warriors Legend has postulated that the team is struggling to win the league because of the sale of their former top striker.
Asante Kotoko Legend Sarfo Gyamfi has attributed Kotoko’s difficulty to win the 2020-21 Ghana Premier League title due to the sale of their former forward Kwame Poku.
Kotoko sold Kwame Poku to Algerian giants USM Algiers three months ago.
Build up to Poku’s transfer to USM Algiers, Poku was one of the top scorers in the GPL having netted 7 goals in the ongoing premier campaign.
This, Sarfo Gyamfi believes it’s the reason Kotoko is struggling to win the league.
“The problem at the Black Stars is the same as one at Kotoko.
“Kotoko’s problem is as a result of the sale of striker, Kwame Poku. Sarfo Gyamfi told Africa-foot.com
“The sale of Kwame Poku has cost Kotoko now and that’s why they are struggling for the league title.
“If Kwame Poku had not left, Kotoko would have won the league long ago.” He added.
Asante Kotoko are currently second on the league with 53 points, same as their arch rivals Hearts of Oak however, Hearts tops the league table with more goals than Kotoko.
