Ghana FA reject Hearts of Oak's request to postpone GPL game against Gold Stars

Ghana Football Association (GFA) has rejected Hearts of Oak’s request to have their week 29 game against Bibiani Goldstars postpone after disease hit camp.

Over 15 Hearts players have been hospitalised over strange disease in various hospitals in Accra, disrupting preparations ahead of their match week 29 encounter.

Only five players reported for training on Monday after most of the players could not attend the session ahead their league game against Gold Stars.

“The reality is that after the Dreams FC game some players were not feeling well so our medical team stepped in.

“Most of them have been stabilized,” Opare told Original 91.9 FM.

“It’s left with only one player who will go through the last lab test. I spoke to one of the doctors. We wrote to the FA to postpone the game but the feedback wasn’t positive.

“Many of the players are first-team players but we will work on and play. They are currently training at the Legon School Park.”

Ansah Botchway was rushed to a clinic in Mamprobi on Sunday night while midfielder Nurudeen Abdul Aziz is on admission at the Universal Clinic in Madina.

Key players like Seidu Suraj and Amankwah Baafi have been hospitalised over the strange illness

Former Black Satellites skipper Afriyie Barnieh first reported coughing, cold and malaria before he was rushed for treatment.

However, Sulley Muntari, Samuel Inkoom and Gladson Awako are not among those affected by the illness.

Hearts of oak is scheduled to play Goldstars tomorrow at the Accra Sports Stadium.
