GES/NSA make changes to start of 2023/24 Ashanti Regional Inter-Schools Boys’ Soccer Competition after successful engagement; check full details

Ashanti Regional Directorate of National Sports Authority (NSA) on Thursday, January 04, 2024 met officials Ghana Education Service (GES) at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on the upcoming inter school football gala in the region.

Chairman of Ashanti Sports Federation, Suleiman Yeboah led the team from GES while Regional Director of NSA, Emmanuel Kojo Appiah led the NSA team during the discussion.

As part of the NSA’s core mandates to develop and promote sports, Director General of the Authority has approved the release of the facility to GES for the competition.

It was agreed that, GES immediately reschedules the fixed dates of the games due to Black Stars preparations for the 2023 AFCON.

The competition was scheduled to start January 9, 2024 and end January 16, 2024.

But GES together with NSA at the meeting agreed that, the 2024 inter school soccer will be held at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium between January 11 & 18, 2024.

The NSA & GES also agreed that, the Green Popular Stand of the stadium shall not be used during the games in bid to control the students and fans who will throng the stadium.

Both parties assured each other of a continued smooth working relationship to guarantee the successful organization of the games.

NSA will plead with GES, the students and sporting public to handle the properties of the facility with care in order to avoid any breakages as witnessed in previous competitions.
