1 min readFormer Asante Kotoko CEO, Nana Yaw Amponsah, is recovering and in stable condition following a poisoning incident.
It was reported that Amponsah encountered this ordeal while attending a friend’s party in Tarkwa over the weekend.
Dela Fishbone, a presenter from Wontumi Sports, shared on Wontumi TV that Amponsah was scheduled to travel abroad for business on Wednesday, but his health condition has caused a delay.
Fishbone mentioned that Amponsah has not revealed the specific health facility where he is being treated.
Currently, no suspects have been identified in the poisoning case, and attempts to get more information from Amponsah’s associates have been unsuccessful.
Amponsah served as CEO of Asante Kotoko from August 2020 to August 2023, during which the club won its 24th league title in the 2021/22 season.
In January 2024, he assumed a similar role with Moldovan club FC Petrocub Hincesti but left after six months in July 2024.
