Hearts of Oak defender, Robert Addo Sowah has shared how he felt when he put on the club’s jersey for the first time.

The 27-year-old has been a mainstay in the Phobians’ central defense, forming a solid partnership with Mohammed Alhassan in five of the opening six matches of the ongoing 2020/21 Ghana Premier League campaign.

In a chat with Phobianews.com, Sowah who joined from Division One side Uncle T United in 2016, stated:

“The feeling I had when I first put on the Hearts jersey was that of fear in a match against Kotoko in Kumasi.

“In that match, I was so scared and was praying I remain on the bench till we close.

“Thankfully, I was unused but from that match, the fear was gone.”

Robert Sowah, earlier in December, extended his contract with Hearts. The new deal will see him stay at the club till 2023.

Hearts of Oak are on 8 points and seated 8th on the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League table.

They welcome current leaders Bechem United for match-day seven at the Accra Sports Stadium on January 2, 2021.
