Ex-Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah 'leading' race for Asante Kotoko job

According to Ghanasportspage.com, the appointment of the next coach for Asante Kotoko is reportedly imminent, with Coach James Kwesi Appiah being the leading candidate.

It is rumored that there is a preliminary agreement between the former Black Stars coach and the club, and that Kwesi Appiah has offered to coach the team for free, subject to certain conditions that CEO Nana Yaw Amponsah must agree to.

However, until the official announcement is made, the 62-year-old trainer has not yet committed to the role.

Kwesi Appiah has a remarkable coaching record and would bring a wealth of experience to Asante Kotoko, having been without a club since his departure from Kenpong Soccer Academy earlier this year.

He won ten trophies with the Porcupine Warriors during his playing career, including the African Cup of Champions Clubs in 1983. He also served as an assistant coach for the team and was later promoted to head coach from 1995 to 1996.
