Emotional Grunsah never interfered with my work – Coach Nurudeen

Ex-King Faisal Head Coach Nurudeen Amadu has dispelled rumors that Club President Alhaji Abdul Karim Grunsah interfered with his work prior to his resignation from the Kumasi based club on April 10.
Despite being a rare practice in world football, Club President Alhaji Grunsah was sometimes seen in the dug-out, fuelling reports that Coach Nurudeen may have resigned due to attempts by the Bankroller to influence his tactical decisions.
“Being the Bankroller, he brings in funds to run the clubs and if things aren’t going right, you can’t take that away from him. Everybody knows Alhaji is a very emotional President and football is an emotional sport,” Nurudeen told Accra based Asempa FM.
“He wants to see that the team delivers. He didn’t necessarily interfere with anything on the bench. He didn’t say Coach do this or do that,” the former Aduana Stars trainer added.
Nurudeen stepped down from his role at Faisal a fortnight ago, following a 0-1 away defeat at bottom placed Elmina Sharks. It was the club’s sixth consecutive league defeat under his watch since March 6, 2022.
With 8 games to end the Ghana Premier League season, Serbian Coach Bozoviv Branko has taken charge of King Faisal, which currently occupies the 14th position with 30 points from 26 league games, just two points above the drop zone.
