Division One League side Phar Rangers withdraw from all Ghana FA Competitions

1 min read

Division One League (DOL) side, Phar Rangers have pulled out of all Ghana Football Association (GFA) organised competitions with immediate effect.

The management believes the Football Association in a deliberate attempt want to relegate the club from the Division One League with some bad officiating and poor decisions impose on the club by the FA.

“The management and directors of PHAR Rangers FC have resolved to withdraw from all GFA competitions including the Division One Zone 3 League and the FA Cup with immediate effect.

“Consider the club defunct,” a press release from the club signed by Administration and Operations manager Hamid Saaka has said.

The Mampong-based club has recently suffered point deductions and in yesterday’s game against struggling side Agbozomer weavers, the centre referee’s decisions confirm their feelings. Rangers suffered a shocking 2-1 defeat where two of their players received red cards which the club believes were deliberate.

Phar Rangers was founded in 2015 by the current Asante Kotoko Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Nana Yaw Amponsah who contested the 2019 Ghana Football Association presidential elections and lost to Kurt Okraku.

Phar Rangers currently occupy the 14thposition of the Division One League Zone 3. The club withdraws out of all Ghana FA competitions despite progressing to the Round 32 of the MTN FA Cup after ousting Dreams FC in the Round of 64.
