DAY 2 Results of 2022 Ashanti Regional Inter-school boys’ soccer competition: OWASS, T.I AMASS, O’SEC TECH progress to R16 as O.T is kicked out [+ DAY 3 FIXTURES]

The 2022 Ashanti Regional Inter-school and Colleges Boys Soccer Competition continued on Thursday with the Round of 32 games at the Len Clay Stadium in Obuasi.

The first game of the Day 2 was between Opoku Ware School and Fomena Amass. OWASS opened the scoring with a penalty kick in the first half before adding two goals to secure a 3-0 victory.

Okomfo Anokye SHS beat Agona Sec Tech 2-1 to book a place in the round of 16. Okomofo Anokye scored first but Agona equalised before Okomfo Anokye snatched the winner late in the second half.

The much-anticipated duel on the day was between Asanteman and Osei Tutu, Akropong due to the presence of Bechem United’s talisman Clinton Duodu who featured for O.T.

After a pulsating goalless draw, Asanteman defeated O.T 5-4 on penalties.

Toase Senior High progressed to the next stage of the competition after beating Jachie Pramso 3-2 on penalties following a 0-0 stalemate.

Host team Obuasi Sec Tech thrashed Agric Nzema 3-1. The home side scored early to end the first half 1-0. They continued their impressive display in the second half as they netted two more goals to end the contest. But with few minutes to end proceedings, the visitors reduced the deficit by 1.

Asante Kotoko youth coach, Abdulai Gazale led T.I AMASS, Kumasi to beat Antoa SHS 4-0 to progress to the next level of the competition. A goal in the first half before the Amakom-based school scored 3 in the second half to advance to the round of 16.

The last game was between Sakafia SHS and Adanwomade. After a goalless draw, Adanwomase SHS defeated Sakafia 5-4 on penalties.
