Cristiano Ronaldo’s club Al Nassr BANNED by FIFA

Cristiano Ronaldo’s club in the Saudi Pro League, Al Nassr, has been dealt a major blow as FIFA has imposed a ban on them from registering new players.

The ban, which will last for three transfer windows, is a result of Al Nassr’s failure to fulfill owed add-on payments to Leicester City for the transfer of Nigerian striker Ahmed Musa.

The initial £14 million deal between Al Nassr and Leicester City included additional payments that remain unpaid, with the Saudi club owing the Foxes £390,000. As a consequence, FIFA has taken the decision to impose a transfer ban on Al Nassr.

Last season, Al Nassr finished as runners-up in the Saudi Pro League. The club made headlines in December 2022 when they secured the signing of Cristiano Ronaldo on a staggering £173 million-a-year contract.

Al Nassr has been part of a growing trend of high-profile players moving to the Middle East, with notable signings including Karim Benzema, Ruben Neves, N’Golo Kante, Kalidou Koulibaly, and Edouard Mendy.
