Coach Kwasi Appiah to offer technical assistance to Asante Kotoko against Al-Hilal

Former Black Stars coach, James Kwasi Appiah will be in the stands to offer technical assistance to the technical bench of Asante Kotoko when they battle Al-Hilal in the CAF Champions League clash on Wednesday(today).

The Porcupine Warriors will battle the Sudanese side at the Accra Sports Stadium as they seek for a group stage spot in the elite competition.

The Ghanaian giants sacked their head coach, Maxwell Konadu last week Friday after a 1-0 defeat to Great Olympics in the Ghana Premier League.

Coach Johnson Smith was appointed as an interim coach, but he is not eligible to head the technical team because he does not hold a CAF license A certificate which will qualify him to sit on the bench.

According to Footydreamsgh.com sources, Coach Abdulai Gazale’s name will appear on the team sheet of Kotoko as head coach this afternoon because he holds a CAF license A certificate.

However, Information reaching Oyerepa FM Sports is that Coach James Kwasi Appiah will be in the stands to offer technical support to Asante Kotoko when the Porcupines play Al Hilal of Sudan.

It would be recalled that Appiah has had stints with Sudanese side Al Khartoum and will have much information about the style of play of the visitors.

The match is scheduled to kick off 15:00 GMT.
