Chelsea and Liverpool played to a 1-1 draw in their Premier League (PL) opener, marking the seventh consecutive competitive match between the teams to end in a draw.
Liverpool took an early lead with a goal from Luis Díaz after an assist from Mohamed Salah, who was later ruled offside after scoring.
Chelsea equalized before halftime as debutant Axel Disasi scored from a header by Ben Chilwell.
The match had an exciting flow, with both teams creating chances, but neither could find the winning goal in the second half.
The result marked a solid start for new Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino, while Liverpool extended their unbeaten streak in season openers to 11 years.
