“Barcelona travelled to US without Xavi”- Kotoko Communications Director on starting pre-season without Dr Ogum

Daniel Obeng Nyarko, Asante Kotoko’s director of communications, has downplayed claims of coach Dr. Prosper Ogum’s departure.

Despite rumours that the coach has resigned, there hasn’t been any official contact from him, according to Obeng Nyarko.

The Porcupine Warriors are set to travel to Turkey for pre-season on August 15, 2022, ahead of the new season.

And it is likely the ex-WAFA coach will not be travelling with the club.

“There’s no official communication from the club. Recently Barcelona travelled to pre-season of which Xavi couldn’t make it but still had the pre season,” he said at the launch of their pre-season programme.

“Until the club officially comes out, it is important that we take it as it is,” he added.

The Porcupine Warriors led by Dr Prosper Ogum reclaimed the Ghana Premier League title from rivals Hearts of Oak last season.

Dr Prosper Ogum is currently with the Black Galaxies team in Cotonou for the CHAN qualifiers.
