Ghana Premier League giants Asante Kotoko are gearing up for a significant roster overhaul as they are reportedly set to release eleven players in anticipation of the upcoming season, as per local media reports.

Following a challenging performance in the previous term that resulted in a fourth-place finish on the Ghana Premier League table, the Porcupine Warriors are actively taking measures to strengthen the team for the upcoming season. Their goal is to establish a competitive presence in both the Ghanaian top-flight league and the FA Cup competition.

The club, based in Kumasi, is currently under the supervision of an Interim Management Committee (IMC) due to the recent dissolution of the board and management.

The IMC, which includes individuals like Nana Apinkra Akwasi Awua, James Kwesi Appiah, Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum (the new head coach), and Emmanuel Newton Dasoberi (administrative manager), has communicated the decision to part ways with eleven players as part of the club’s rebuilding strategy in preparation for the upcoming campaign.

The list of players expected to depart from the club includes Abdul Rafiu Yakubu, Maxwell Agyemang, Andrews Kwadwo Appau, Mohammed Alhassan, Solomon Sarfo Taylor, and Samuel Boateng.

Additionally, other players like Ernest Osei Opoku, Evans Adomako, Clinton Opoku, Charles Owusu, and Dickson Afoakwa will also be bidding farewell to the club as part of this reshuffling process.
