Eric Bekoe, a legendary player of Asante Kotoko, has recently disclosed that Ishmael Addo, an iconic figure of Hearts of Oak, was one of his role models during his journey to becoming a successful footballer.

Addo won the Golden Boot for three consecutive seasons in the Ghana Premier League, and he jointly holds the record for the highest number of goals scored in a single season, 22 goals, along with Yaw Annor.

Addo is widely recognized as one of the greatest goal scorers in the history of the Ghana Premier League.

Bekoe revealed that he admired Addo’s skills and used to seek inspiration from him while he was still a young footballer. He even called Addo regularly to ask him for tips and training regimes.

“Ishmael Addo is one of my idols, even though he is a legend of Hearts of Oak,” Bekoe said in an interview with Joy Sports. “He was someone I looked up to and called all the time to ask him how he made it. He gave me all his training programs, and it has helped me to become the player I am today. Ishmael is usually reserved, but once you get to know him, he is very friendly and outgoing.”
