Al Nassr make ‘$10 million offer’ for Al Ahly captain

1 min read

Saudi giants Al-Nassr have reportedly made an opening offer worth up to $ 10 million for Al Ahly and Egypt goalkeeper Mohamed El-Shennawy.

Al-Nassr are keen to pursue a move for the 35-year-old with David Ospina’s future in Saudi Arabia uncertain.

The former Arsenal keeper moved to Al-Nassr in July 2022, but made just 14 appearances before breaking his elbow, which ruled him out for a year.

Ronaldo’s side is therefore looking at the goalkeeper market, with El-Shennawy emerging as the number one option, following his exceptional performances in the latest Club World Cup in Saudi Arabia.

According to Egypt legend turned pundit Ahmed Hassan, Al-Nassr has offered Al Ahly $10 million for their captain, as revealed on his TV show ‘El-Captain’ on DMC.

Should a deal proceed, El-Shennawy will earn a salary of $3 million from the Riyadh-based club per season, according to Hassan.

It’s not the first time El-Shennawy has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia, with the player reportedly rejecting the Saudi offer earlier last year.
