AFCON 2023 Q: Osman Bukari scores to steal vital point for Ghana against Angola

During the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers game between Angola and Ghana, the pacy winger, Osman Bukari, managed to score less than 30 seconds after being subbed in, helping Ghana secure a 1-1 draw against their Group E opponent.

The match took place at Luanda’s 11th November Stadium, where Angola started strongly and put Ghana under pressure. However, the visitors’ defense gradually grew into the game and started to threaten the home team as well.

After a goalless first half, Angola was awarded a penalty kick five minutes into the second half, which was successfully converted by attacker Lucas Joao, giving the home team the lead. Despite the setback, Ghana’s coach Chris Hughton had different ideas, and Bukari’s goal helped level the scoreline, resulting in a 1-1 draw.

As a result of the match’s outcome, Ghana continues to lead Group E and remains on course to qualify for the 2023 AFCON tournament, which is set to be hosted in Ivory Coast.
